Doing some tweaking to the blog - please bear with me

Both Google and Blogger are doing some very weird things to me right now. It's somehow integrated everything with my Google+ account, so now my normal "About Me" bit on the sidebar has disappeared.

I'm also changing things over to go with my Mithril Wisdom address. As it was, I was commenting on posts with my personal email, and everything else with my blog email. This didn't work so expect to see me disappear from your Google Friend Connect boxes and then reappear over the coming days/weeks.

Thanks for being patient with me. In the meantime, check out the epic new trailer for The Avengers.
Anyone else having problems with  Google and Blogger?

  1. Finding your blog wasn't difficult, but sometimes when everything goes to that Google+ page it can be a hassle. The tech people need to be given some time off or maybe have their hours cut so they can just be there to fix problems. Right now they're messing with too much that ain't broke.

    1. Very true. I hope they figure out a decent solution soon. I'll pray to the nefarious gods of Google.

  2. Hi Jamie
I'm trying to get back into the swig of blogging after a long illness. I'm sure you are aware that blogger is owned by Google and they have some new rules that allow them to gather all your personal information and store it in one location. You can say no if you want to.

    1. Thanks Nancy :) I figured that it had something to do with the whole 'one policy for everything' thing they've got going on. I hope they figure it out eventually.

  3. yep, Blogger and Google Plus are messing with our brains these days :) And Facebook is threatening too, with making us all accept timeline concept this month :(

    1. Fret not about the Timeline, Dez. There's some compensation in the fact that you can combine your profile photo and cover photo into some funky combinations.

  4. And makes me so glad I am not on Facebook!
I believe it's your foreign address that is the issue. I've heard others from countries such as Australia say the change even reverted them back to their old blog. Horrors, huh?

    1. Curse my foreignness. Google is planning some kind of cultural segregation of the Internet.

    1. I've been a big advocate of their stuff for years, but maybe it's just social conditioning ...

  6. I'm worried I don't understand all the ramifications of the changes Google has made. I haven't had trouble yet but the new month is young.

    1. Give it time; it'll happen to you too. I'm not sure what they're playing at, but it can't be good. I know that the European Union stopped them from doing some changes over here because it counted as illegal.

  7. I haven't had any major problems with Google/Blogger, but Google keeps trying to get me to join Google+. I get the impression if I touch it things will turn into a mess . . .

    1. It'll happen to everyone eventually, I think. Google are tying their best to integrate G+ into everything to make it into the 'Facebook killer' that they hoped it would be. I figure why resist fighting it and make the best of the situation?

  8. Ah, I wondered why you suddenly appeared as a new friend on my blog :-)

    1. Nothing to be alarmed about :) It's going to take a while to send all my blogs over to the new one but I'll get there eventually :)
