My review of the Monstrous Regiment stage production has been published on The Cardiffian, an online newspaper for local events. You can read the full thing there, but here's a snippet of the review here. Suffice to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

"A cross-dressing Igor, a caffeine addict vampire and a possessed religious fanatic bring Terry Pratchett's trademark silliness to life in a satirical tale of gender bending during wartime."

...

"The show was technically minimalist, but this in no way detracted from the experience. In fact, the stripped-down style allowed the players more space to express themselves. The focus was instead on smaller sets of character specific props, which added an extra level of depth to each member of the regiment."

  3. That is so cool they made a play of it. MONSTROUS REGIMENT and NIGHT WATCH are my two favorite Pratchett novels, though really, I love the whole discworld series.

    1. I've yet to read Night Watch, but I've heard that one of the best Discworld novels. I love the City Watch series, so I expect I'll love it aswell.

    1. I'd highly recommend them - they're the best series in the Discworld, and probably the funniest too.

It was a complete fluke that this was in town - the director is trying to do another Discworld play, so fingers crossed I'll be able to see that.

    1. Well, virtual newspaper, but it's there nonetheless. I'm a little disappointed they didn't mention my name or throw in a link back here, but hey, published is published!

  7. I need to read some Terry Pratchett. I have not read any of his books, and I see his name everywhere. I'm so behind the times.
