The Simpsons is world-famous for its couch gags - those little snippets right at the end of the intro sequence that change with every episode. In what is probably one of the best cough gags in recent memory, the show has parodied the intro from Game of Thrones, complete with mechanically raised buildings and the iconic theme music. I sense a geek-splosion any minute now.
FOX keeps taking down any attempt to upload the intro onto YouTube, but io9 has a full, high quality version up still. I'm not sure how long it will be before that's quietly asked to be removed, so watch it while you can!

ReplyDeleteCurrently we are saving money so I only have what we can get for free. Grimm is my favorite, I love the wolf. Once Upon A Time comes in at a close second. Too much back story in this one though.

I still haven't seen Grimm or Once Upon A Time; I've heard some really good things about it though.
DeleteI am ashamed to say that I still have not watched A Game of Thrones. However, that will be remedied tomorrow when I can finally get my DVDs.

DeleteLooks like I'm too late to see it. But I've only read the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, so most of it probably would have gone over my head. :P

DeleteIt doesn't really make reference to the books; it parodies the opening theme to the TV adaptation more than anything else.
The Game of Thrones does have a great opening. It's very creative and the Simpson creators are really lovable smart asses.
