Blood Bound by Hammerfall
from the album Chaptver V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken
"Countdown, descending down to zero.
Bursting into flames."
Hammerfall were one of the first power metal bands that I got into, and they were a great introduction to this genre. If you ever wanted to know what it would be like to be a knight, then these guys will tell you.
All of their songs are about the glory of battle and chivalry, and Blood Bound is no exception. Glory, power and the bonds of brotherhood are all covered in an uplifting and heroic tune.

What glory do you seek with your blog or your writing? What is at the end of your quest?

I primarily blog to practice and try on all different types of writing hats, but should a book idea come out of it, let's just say I wouldn't scoff at the idea! ;)
ReplyDeleteAlana @ writercize.blogspot.com
Found you through A to Z.
Well met, Alana :)
DeleteSounds very similar to my own goals. I've got some bigger writing ideas, but blogging is my main thing right now. No hat suits me just yet though (apart from the one that has a built in coffee maker)
We have their double 'Best of' album. I believe I've stated before that these guys were probably playing D&D while recording their albums.
ReplyDeleteNice :) Lol, D&D pretty much sums it up for Hammerfall.
Deleteif I remember correctly they had a concert in my country some time ago.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! They're a band I'd really like to see live.
DeletePity I can't listen to these guys now that I have proper access to their songs, sensitive ears of approaching middle age. :(
ReplyDeleteI am sure quite a few Indian bands started out emulating them and others before creating their own style.
Aww that's a shame Rek. You're missing out :)
DeleteI've not heard of Indian bands doing this kind of music - it's mainly been Scandanavian bands. I'd love to hear some though.
Ooh I'm loving tune, gona have to check this band out. I'm hoping my blog will help me develop my writing skills because I really do suck lol. What glory do you want from your blog? :)
ReplyDeleteAnother good one by them is "The Dragon Lies Bleeding" :)
DeleteGood goals for your blog. My own glory I think would be when I get asked to go to something like the sci-fi weekender as a press member or something. That'd be awesome :)
I write to share my thoughts and to unburden my soul. It is a passion with no thoughts of the future.I liked your post.

I agree - writing's a great way of sharing our minds with the world :)
DeleteCool video in every sense of the word!
ReplyDeleteI blog to share my passion for books, to meet readers, blogger and authors around the world, to improve my English, to avoid the void when I retire from work.
Only immortals have a never ending quest ...
Looks like you're doing a great job so far, Edi :)
DeleteThat song kicks ass! I've never heard of them. It's probably the most amazing video I've ever seen. Then singing on top of a huge hammer after breaking free of ice! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly know how to give us a spectacle. One of the best things about this genre of music is that everything has to be EPIC
Deleteeasily my favorite of these so far.
ReplyDeletewhat really reeled me in was the setting and the colors of it. it was so abso-freakin-lutely gorgeous!
It's a really well made video; one of their best. Some of the others have been less so (they sing with the Swedish ladies' curling team :P)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous vid and I love that name Hammerfall. Very Norse.
ReplyDeleteThe end of my quest...I would love to see my non-erotica novels finished and into print. My quest would continue after, sort of a neverending story
'tis a noble quest, Mel :) Looks like you're in good stead to see it through too.
DeleteEnd of my quest? Man, Jamie, I didn't think it would give me pause to try to articulate it. I know it has to do with encouraging others but I'd like to be more specific. I'll have to get back to you.
ReplyDeleteLove your thought-provoking questions of mythic proportions.
Have a wonderful Easter, friend.
Thanks Suze, you too :)
DeleteEncouraging others is a noble goal, and one that a lot of bloggers don't do.
The video was not cooperating with me, but I did get a taste, and it was good! I'd just like to be a published author. I'll worry about glory after that.

A simple and worthwhile quest :) Glad you liked what you did hear :)
DeleteWow, that's quite the question! Um... I dunno? I guess I just want people to read and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've read so far, you've achieved that goal and then some :)
DeleteOkay, I'm now actually trying to find one of these songs I don't like. I'm not supposed to like metal ;-)
ReplyDelete*Sigh*, yes, I liked this one too. How many does that make?
Are we 7 for 7 so far? Fingers crossed I'll make a believer out of you yet :)
DeleteSo many types of metal - and you've done a great job of not picking the obvious (black, death etc.) will it be Sludge Metal for S?!
ReplyDeleteSludge Metal sounds intriguing, but I've something else planned :)
DeleteThere is no end to a true hero's quest ;)
ReplyDeleteVery true, but it's sometimes nice to say it's ended for a while so you can have a sit down :)
