Cheers Cavanaugh blogfest
Today also marks the start of the Cheers Cavanaugh blogfest, hosted by Mark Koopman, Morgan Shamy, Stephen Tremp and David Powers King. The purpose of this blogest is to raise a toast to our Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh and show him our appreciation for being a stalwart pillar of the blogging community. Alex was one of the first people to start following and commenting on this blog, and it's mostly down to him that I've had any success at all. Alex, I salute you!
His face eternally shrouded in shadow, the gleam of Cosbolts reflected in his eyes and a heavy metal mane.
In +/- 20 words, who could play Alex in a documentary? (Living or dead.)
We’d need several actors similar to The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus to emphasise his enigmatic visage and unknown guise.
In +/- 20 words, who does Alex remind you of?
Alex is a Jedi mentor – a friend during the good times and the voice of wisdom during the bad.
In +/- 100 words, (excluding the title) write flash fiction using all these prompts:

Silently, the Ninja Captain crept behind the scenes of the Internet, like a Cosbolt with silenced thrusters. ‘twas the first Wednesday of the month, and good bloggers and insecure writers the world over knew that’s when Cavanaugh Claus would bestow upon them many gifts.
Blog after blog he would visit, leaving his hearty thanks, pearls of wisdom or a quiet nod of appreciation that spoke volumes. Each month he’d visit us, blog by blog, and with the quiet twang of his guitar he sings “Merry IWSG day to all, and to all a good night!”
For Bonus Points:
In +/- 40 words, leave a comment for Mrs. Cavanaugh – thanking her for sharing Alex with us

Dear Mrs. Cavanaugh,
I apologise on behalf of the Internet for borrowing Alex so often, but we thank you for allowing us precious time with the Ninja Captain. We’ll bring him back the same way we found him, we promise.
