The TBR Tower 2013 Part 1 - Review copies

The TBR Tower Grows!

This is the first post in a series showing my TBR Tower as it stands at the beginning of 2013. I'll be looking at what books I have yet to read and what my initial thoughts are on them. I'm using an interactive image; just hover over the image to activate the icons. Then hover over the "i" icons to read my thoughts on the book and a link to the full synopsis on Goodreads. Let me know if there are any problems using it - I'd like to use these interactive images more often.

What books are on your TBR pile at the moment?

  1. I like the interactive image, haven't seen that before.

My TBR is about seven deep and growing.

    1. Seven is a good effort at keeping it down. I wish I had TBR books in single figures :(

  3. I like the interactive image, too. I'm going to add that Benjamin Percy novel to my TBR list even thought the list has gotten waaaaay longer since I joined GoodReads. Sigh.

  4. I'm looking forward to Laini Taylor's book, too. I loved DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE. That is a very cool interactive image!

    1. Me too; I'm sad that it's taken me this long to get through the pile.

  5. This is cool, Jaims.

My TBR tower includes this, this and this.

    Currently *loving* this.

    1. Nice list :) I didn't get into the Scott Card book; I thought it focused a little too much on the Sf and not on fantasy (fair enough, since he's a SF writer).

  6. On my tower? Oh, let's see...

    A Game of Thrones
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
    The Time Traveler's Wife
    The Scarlet Pimpernel
    Executive Decision
    The Big House
    Unending Devotion

Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I think there are about 200 books on my list right now.

  7. I don't think there is a room big enough for my TBR list. Love the interactive image! And Howey's Wool looks so awesome in print.

    1. I've only recently heard about it, but I'm interested to see how it reads :)

  8. I have more than a dozen physical books on my TBR and twice taht many ebooks on my kobo and on my phone. Wish I was clever enough to create that interactive image.

    1. Damn, I forgot about my eBooks - That'll make for part 3 of my pile. Thanks Susan!

  9. That's a really cool image!

My TBR pile is mostly books from the library right now--my TBR list would take me a long time to recite. :P

    1. Hehe, I like the way you work - I can't remember the last time I read a book from the library!

  10. I had no idea you could do this with images. Very cool :)

    1. It's a new thing I've found, and it's a pretty neat way of showing off the TBR tower without massive chunks of text getting in the way :)

  11. Why are there so many good books and so little time? I've got Terry Brooks and Cherie Priest waiting to be read on my pile, among others.

    1. I've still not read any Brooks, but I'm devouring anything any everything by Priest that I can get my hands on (my review of Dreadnought should be up this week).

  12. Among Others and Wool are both excellent books. Excited to see them on your tower. I'd be afraid to make a tower, lol! On my small TBR shelf that I had my dad make, the one that rests between my wife and my recliner in our reading room, has:

A Soldier's Duty by Jean Johnson
An Officer's Duty by Jean Johnson
Edge of Infinity ed by Jonathan Strahan
Blue Remembered Earth by Alastair Reynolds
    Nightfall by Asimov/Silverberg
The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov
    vN by Madeline Ashby
    Andromeda's Fall by William Dietz
A Beautiful Friendship by David Webster
Wake of the Bloody Angel by Alex Bledsoe

and that is not counting the shelves of unread books I have elsewhere.

  13. Weighty tomes? You take that back! I kid, I kid.

  14. Um, this is a seriously awesome idea! Love the interactive graphic. My TBR list is very tall. Next up is The Name of the Wind, A Memory of Light and Insurgent...possibly not in that order.

  15. Interesting TBR tower. I do like the interactive image. Worth noting: it's just a static image in my feed reader, so if you do this in the future be sure to note that it's an interactive image or people viewing via feed reader (or email, I assume, if you have email subscription) will know to click through for full content.
