The dream is possible, so dream big [IWSG]

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling

This month's edition of the Insecure Writer's Support Group isn't about me. It's a reminder that we can dream big, and we can achieve those dreams.

Some of you might know Liz de Jager, who's been blogging at her place for about 4 years. Liz has some good geek cred and is also known to dabble in storytelling. Well, guess what Liz went and did?

She got a book deal.

With Tor UK.

For three books.

Super awesome congratulations to you, Liz! Here's a snippet from the press release:
De Jager said: ‘I’m thrilled beyond words to be joining the league of Tor UK authors. Tor has consistently
published some of the best genre and YA fiction to be found in the market and for them to take on my
three Blackhart Legacy titles is a dream come true. I believe Tor UK is the right home for Kit Blackhart and
I cannot wait to share the first book in the series with you in early 2014.’
For those of you who have resigned yourselves to never getting published, not getting an agent, or not getting picked up by one of the Big 6 book publishers - why not? What's stopping you? This shows that you can aim high and achieve great things. It's very possible, but it begins with you believing that you have the capacity for greatness.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.

What are your writing dreams? Don't forget to dream big!

  17. Very important words indeed. I think we sometimes get caught up in making it, that we forget to dream big dreams.

  20. Thank you for the boost! Just when I'd decided to stop querying for a while... I've got to fix up my current story and start querying all over again!
