The A Song of Ice and Fire Book Club - the beginning

Today is the start of the great A Song of Ice and Fire catch up read, where I attempt to read books 1-4 of George R.R. Martin's fantasy series before the release of Game of Thrones Season 4 in March 2014. This means that I'll be reading A Game of Thrones in about 10 weeks, so it's fairly a fairly leisurely read (about one chapter each day)

Joining me on this catch-up read is the awesome Geek BanterBibliotropic and Reading, Writing and Everything Inbetween. Every two weeks we'll be asking each other a few questions on what we've read so far and I'll make a few comments on how it compares to the TV show.

If anyone else wants to get involved in the ASOIAF Book Club, then let me know! Comment here, email me on mithrilwisdom[AT]gmail[DOT]com, tweet me etc. and I'll send you some more info.

I made the custom House sigil on the official HBO/Game of Thrones sigil creator, www.jointherealm.com.

Wish me luck, and get involved!

  5. Yes! I just got my post up. I like your sigil :) That was fun to make. I also went with the #asoiafcatchup hashtag out of your two choices, because #gotcatchup made me think we were trying to write some kind of slogan like Got Milk? but spelled ketchup wrong. hehe. Gonna be so much fun!

  9. I'm only halfway through book one. I'll try to join in, but you might need to remind me to chime in.

Just snagged Game of Thrones Volume One graphic novel for Father's Day. Truth be told, not as good as the novel.
